DUMBO — Enthusiastic skaters of all ages and abilities were on the ice at Roebling Rink in Brooklyn Bridge Park on Sunday, enjoying the crisp air, stunning view and care-free camaraderie.
While many swooshed around the 8,600 square-foot rink with the greatest of ease, others gamely shuffled along while hugging the perimeter fence or one of the blue “Bobby the Seal” skating aids. Occasionally someone would wipe out — usually an adult.

Zoey, age 9, and her mom Adilia said they came in from Freeport to make a day of it in DUMBO, visit the sights and dine. “We’ve done a couple of stops,” Adilia said.
Zoey said this was her first time on ice skates, and she liked it. “It’s fun!” she confirmed, all smiles.
“The last time I skated was when I was 15 or 16 years old in high school,” Adilia added. She had no trouble getting right back into it, however.

This is the second year Roebling Rink has “popped up” in Emily Warren Roebling Plaza under the Brooklyn Bridge. (In 2023, Brooklyn Bridge Park inaugurated ice skating with the Glide rink and indoor cafe, operated by BSE Global and the sports management firm IMG.) Roebling Rink has no cafe but offers hot chocolate.
Ice skating in Brooklyn Bridge Park has proven to be super popular. Last year, Roebling Rink sold more than 150,000 tickets over its 14-week season, according to The Experiential Group partner IRL Works.

This season’s rate is $16 per person for a 60-minute interval (arrive any time within the two-hour session), plus $8 for skate rentals and $5 for helmets or “skate buddies” for beginners. You can book tickets in advance at RoeblingRink.com.
The rink also offers limited free admission to Brooklyn locals — ten complimentary tickets are offered at all three sessions Monday through Thursday, and Sessions 2 – 4 on Friday. Passes are first-come, first-served, and must be booked in person with a valid NYC address on an ID.
