A raging fire overtook a house in Staten Island’s Mariners Harbor early Wednesday, spewing smoke into the pre-dawn sky as firefighters battled the flames.
The FDNY says it got a call about a possible basement fire at Grandview Avenue and Arlington Place around 5:30 a.m. The firefighting effort was ongoing an hour later.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Chopper 4 showed a large emergency response at the scene.
