STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Pete Davidson is almost in his Staten Island dad era.

The comedian and actor, who’s expecting his first child with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, is already thinking about what to name the baby, and he’s surprisingly traditional about it.

Davidson told People that he and Hewitt are leaning firmly away from the celebrity tradition of choosing a quirky name.

“For a while, we were like, should we do that weird Hollywood thing where it’s like a color or something?” he said. “And then I think we’re more into the Staten Island normal.”

That “normal” includes familiar names from his hometown borough. “Mikey, Johnny, Tommy, Mark or Amy, Bridget, Maggie sort of route, because that’s missing, I miss that,” Davidson said. “Remember when you were growing up, you knew like seven Franks?”

Of course, in classic Pete fashion, there’s still room for a twist: “We were thinking the middle name could be a little fun,” he said.

The Staten Island native, 32, and the model, 29, reportedly got together in March and made their red carpet debut two months later at the Endometriosis Foundation’s Blossom Ball in New York City.

In July, Hewitt announced the news of her pregnancy on Instagram with a carousel of photos and videos of the couple, including Davidson with a hand on her stomach, a sonogram image and a SpongeBob meme that read: “One of y’all hiding your pregnancy I can feel it.” She captioned the post: “welp now everyone knows we had sex.”

If their social media moments have told us anything, Davidson and Hewitt are not shy about being all in. Hewitt recently said she knew from their very first dinner date that he’d be the father of her children, saying, “I was like, ‘Okay, don’t think I’m crazy, but I just know you’re going to be the father of my children.’”

According to Davidson, she wasn’t alone in that instinct. “You know those things that you think, and you’re not supposed to say them yet, we both just say them,” Davidson told People. “So, it was nice to meet someone like that. Just very straightforward and not wasting time. We definitely didn’t waste time.”
