STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The FDNY fought a fire at a house in Rossville on Thursday morning.
The fire was reported at 8:51 a.m. at 589 Correll Ave., in a townhouse development between Bombay Street and Maguire Avenue, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY.
The fire started on the second floor of the two-story dwelling, according to the FDNY spokesperson.
Twelve units and about 60 fire and EMS personnel brought the fire under control at 9:32 a.m., about 40 minutes after it was reported.
No injuries were reported.
Fire marshals will determine the cause of the blaze.
Firefighters wearing smoke masks and other protective gear were seen going in and out of the home.
A woman who lives in the house told the Advance/SILive.com that there was no fire when she left a short time before authorities were called to the scene.
“I don’t know what happened,” she told the Advance/SILive.com.
