SUNSET PARK — THE ACCLAIMED MEAL DELIVERY NON-PROFIT GOD’S LOVE WE DELIVER LAUNCHED A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN to build a new distribution center in Sunset Park. Volunteers with God’s Love We Deliver cook and home-deliver nutritious, medically tailored meals for people affected by life-altering illness.
Founded in 1985 as a response to the AIDS pandemic, the nonsectarian organization is marking its 40th anniversary with 40 FORWARD Capital Campaign, a $40 million initiative to support the opening of a brand-new, state of-the-art meal distribution center at Liberty BKLYN in Sunset Park. God’s Love We Deliver signed a 20-year lease at Liberty BKLYN (850 Third Ave.) after a multi-year site search. Brooklyn is already home to 26% of the organization’s 15,000 clients, making this location central to its mission of serving more people with compassion and care. The new 30,000-square-foot facility will enable God’s Love to increase capacity from 4 million meals today to more than 6.5 million meals annually, ensuring the organization can meet growing demand.
God’s Love has raised $23.5 million to date toward its $40 million goal, covering capital costs, lease expenses, and capital reserves. God’s Love has also received corporate and public funds, including from the NYC City Council and Borough President Antonio Reynoso.
