The incident happened on West 41st Street, between Park and Lexington avenues, around 4:30 p.m. near Grand Central Terminal, officials said.

“I ran into my store,” Kyaw Tint said.

Tint said he was about six feet away when the bus hit while he was on a smoke break.

The injured person was sent to the hospital, according to the FDNY.

“All of a sudden, you just heard so many sirens. It was blaring,” Nila Bryant, who works nearby, said.

Based on the markings on the vehicle, the bus appeared to have been a Grand Central-to-Newark Airport Express.

“I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s a huge mess,” Helen Yoon, who was nearby, said.

Authorities have not yet said what caused the crash.

Coach USA released a statement saying that the safety and well-being of its customers and team members is its top priority and that the company is investigating the incident.
