STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Featured in Staten Island’s Best Dressed are photos from the wedding of Tamara J. Gillard and Charles H. Washington III on Oct. 24, 2025.
The beautiful couple exchanged vows at The Bellevue Conference & Event Center, in Chantilly, Virginia, officiated by Starr Roberson, bringing together family and friends for an evening of unforgettable style and festivities.
“What made our wedding day special was the incredible outpouring of love and being surrounded by so many strong unions,” the bride said of her special day. “The love in the room was felt.”
Gillard — now Mrs. Washington — is a Mississippi native but currently resides in Mariners Harbor, where the couple currently lives. The couple plans to eventually relocate to the Maryland or Washington, D.C.
The bride earned her B.A. in Business/Accounting and her Master of Business Administration from Mississippi Valley State University & Alcorn State University, respectively. She currently is a financial controller at Avolta.
The groom, Charles Washington III, who hails Winchester, Virginia, earned his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Christopher Newport University and is a senior IT manager with Convive Brands.
The maid of honor was Savanah Gillard and bridesmaids were Maya Blake, Jade Young, Tangy Tolbert and Kayla McGoy.

The bride wore a strapless ball-gown wedding dress featuring a fitted bodice with intricate lace appliqué and a voluminous tulle skirt, paired with long, loose waves and a delicate, sparkling headpiece for a timeless and graceful look.
The groom complemented her ensemble in a white tuxedo jacket with black satin lapels, a black dress shirt and bow tie, classic black tuxedo trousers, and black loafers accented with a gold emblem.
The bridesmaid dresses were stunningly beautiful in floor-length, deep teal satin gowns with varied silhouettes that flattered each bridemaid’s unique personality, from one-shoulder, to tank, to a sleeveless design.
Some of the couple’s nearest and dearest were honored guests at the wedding, including: Savanah Gillard, Tangy Tolbert, Jade Young, Maya Blake, Kayla McGoy, Chandra Blake, Isaac Blake, Deidre Henriquez, Nicholas Henriquez, Nico Henriquez, Darance Gillard Sr., Darance Gillard Jr., Zyaire Gillard, Annette Mitchell, Demitri Gillard, and Christopher Ables-Sinclair.

Also present were Agyeman Bonsu, Chris Hurd, Gregory Jones, Vance Washington, Charles Washington Jr., Debra Harris, Germando Harris, Arlys Cepeda, Burleigh Savage, Linda Beamer, Irving Baltimore, and Yodi Baltimore.The groom stood with best man Christopher Ables-Sinclair and groomsmen Agyeman Bonsu, Vance Washington, Gregory Jones and Christopher Hurd.
Gillard is the daughter of Chandra Blake and Darance Gillard Sr., while Washington is the son of Debra Harris and Charles Washington Jr.
