An innocent exchange with a New York City street vendor turned violent after a Long Island dad was brutally beaten over $20.
Sean Llewellyn was coming out a of a Trey Anastasio band show at the iconic Beacon Theater on the evening of November 30.Â
He reportedly noticed a street vendor selling all manner of themed souvenirs and knickknacks, and perused the selection to pick out a keepsake of his own.
Llewellyn handed the man $20, but was allegedly owed change, per the New York Post.Â
Rather than hand over the difference, the vendor allegedly ran off with the cash, prompting Llewellyn to chase after him.Â
Instead of giving the 47-year-old what he was owed, the vendor reportedly began to attack him.Â
He was joined by several other assailants who brutally beat Llewellyn seemingly unprovoked. No weapons were used.
The husband and father-of-three young sons was sent to the hospital and has remained there ever since.Â
