BROOKLYN (PIX11) — Six teenagers were injured in a mass shooting in Brooklyn overnight, police said.

The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. on Atlantic Avenue, police said. The teenagers who were shot were all ages 15, 16 and 17. One teenage girl was shot in the chest and hips, police said.

The teenagers were celebrating a 16th birthday, and there were children as young as 10 years old in the room, sources told PIX11 News.

Police believe they are searching for two people, but have not made any arrests on Sunday morning.

City Council Member Yusef Salaam called on New Yorkers to come forward with any information that may help police find the shooter.

“I am deeply disturbed by the shooting on Atlantic Avenue,” Salaam said in a statement. “We must continue to invest in prevention, youth support, and accountability to keep our communities safe.”
