THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – Police are searching for the man accused of punching a woman on board a subway train in the Bronx on Wednesday.

It happened on a southbound No. 5 train approaching East 149th Street/3rd Avenue around 7 a.m., according to the NYPD. Police said the suspect approached the victim and started arguing with her.

He’s then accused of punching her in the face, according to authorities. Police said the woman suffered pain and swelling to her face as a result.

The suspect stayed on the train while the victim got off at the East 86th Street/Lexington Avenue subway station, according to authorities. Police said she took herself to a local hospital for her injuries.

The suspect last wore a black jacket, black pants and black boots, according to authorities.
