WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (PIX11) — The NYPD Bomb Squad was at the scene of an apartment fire that sent one man to the hospital in Brooklyn on Tuesday, according to officials and photos from the scene.
FDNY units responded to a four-story multiple dwelling at 227 Keap St. in Williamsburg for a reported kitchen fire on the top floor at 11:30 a.m., according to Deputy Assistant Chief Joe Duggan.
Duggan said one victim jumped from a fourth-floor window and was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries at the burn center.
“The victim felt his life was threatened and jumped as our units got on scene,” Duggan said.
The NYPD Bomb Squad also responded after the fire was contained and put out. According to police, two suspicious devices were found at the scene.
The objects found appear to be “not a threat,” but the bomb squad is transporting them to firing range, according to a law enforcement source.
