In the heart of Hong Kong’s Central district, COS has reopened its Queen’s Road Central flagship—and it’s less a retail space than a living study in form, texture, and light. The newly imagined store embodies the brand’s enduring commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and timeless design, filtered through an architectural lens that softens minimalism into something distinctly human.
From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels meditative. Walls of recycled paper composite by Paper Factor meet the smooth surfaces of Grassi Pietre’s Vicenza stone, while Kasthall rugs introduce a subtle rhythm underfoot. Every material has been meticulously chosen—not merely for aesthetics but for its story. Terrazzo-like panels from Smile Plastics, made from post-consumer waste, lend pattern and personality without disturbing the calm palette. It’s a masterclass in how quiet details can speak volumes.

The design follows a logic that is both global and deeply local. COS’s in-house atelier collaborated with Studio Goons, a Seoul-based design studio known for its sculptural restraint, to create an environment that feels at once architectural and intuitive. Curved edges temper the modernist lines, while an open layout invites movement and discovery. The effect is something rarely found in the middle of a dense metropolis: serenity.

Furnishings and objects—many sourced from like-minded artisans—add warmth and tactility. Delicate glass sculptures by Danish artist Helle Mardahl glimmer beside displays of COS’s latest AW25 collection, while organic furniture forms by NORR11 anchor the space with quiet confidence. Together, they express the brand’s vision of fashion as part of a larger design conversation—one that bridges art, architecture, and everyday life.

Beyond aesthetics, sustainability remains the store’s guiding principle. Every design choice reflects COS’s long-term approach to responsible creation, from energy-efficient lighting to recycled materials and circular design systems. Even the finishing touches—a balance of neutral tones, natural light, and fluid spatial flow—underscore the brand’s commitment to longevity over novelty.
For a label whose name stands for “Collection of Style,” the newly reopened Queen’s Road Central flagship is an apt reflection of what COS does best: distilling modernity to its essence, then rebuilding it with care, conscience, and craft. The result isn’t just a beautiful store—it’s a physical manifesto of the brand’s evolving identity, one that feels perfectly at home in the world’s most design-conscious cities.
