STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities are responding to a tree, pole and wires down during the rainstorm in West Brighton on Friday.

Bard Avenue is closed at Forest Avenue during the emergency response to the incident at Forest and Delafield Avenue.

The incident was reported at 10:39 a.m. and brought under control less than hour later, at 11:33 a.m. No injuries were reported, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY and EMS.

A tree became uprooted and fell to the ground. A utility pole also is cracked near its base.

Wires are dangling precariously over the sidewalk and street. They also are tangled in the tree and pole.

Con Edison workers are on scene.
