CITYWIDE — ANDREW KIMBALL, president and CEO of the NYC Economic Development Corp., plans to step down before Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani takes office, Crain’s New York reported Friday.
Kimball has led major infrastructure and transportation projects under Mayor Eric Adams, including the in-progress $3.5 billion Brooklyn Marine Terminal redevelopment on 122 acres of Western Brooklyn waterfront and the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal wind farm port in Sunset Park, and has played a role in advancing numerous city projects, including the Blue Highways freight initiative. Kimball was previously CEO of Industry City in Sunset Park; he did not reveal future plans.
“Serving the city I love has been the honor of a lifetime, and what a four-year run it has been,” Kimball wrote in a message to his staff, which was shared with Crain’s.
