STATEN ISLAND, N.Y — Around 200 customers were without power in Richmond, according to the Con Edison online outage map.

According to a spokesperson for the utility, heavy winds impacted overhead power lines, which is a common cause of such outages.

“We have crews ready to respond and restore any service interruptions as quickly and safely as possible,” the spokesperson told the Advance/SILive.com.

An Advance reporter saw utility vehicles in the area, as the traffic lights along Clarke Avenue were out, leading to heavy congestion at the intersection of Clarke and Arthur Kill Road.
