NEW YORK (PIX11) — Students around New York City can enjoy another fall day off, as New York City Public Schools will be closed on Monday.
Schools will be closed on Oct. 20 in observance of Diwali.
The next break will be on Nov. 4, when schools will be closed for Election Day.
The full NYC Public Schools calendar can be found here.
Additionally, Alternate Side Parking rules will be suspended on Monday in observance of Diwali. Parking meters will remain in effect citywide.
City officials reminded drivers that parking within 15 feet of either side of a fire hydrant is illegal and that painted curbs at hydrant locations do not indicate where they can park.
