BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — An 11-year-old boy is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Brooklyn on Monday evening, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened near 2183 Ocean Parkway around 5:50 p.m.

Police say a 2026 Acura Integra heading northbound on Ocean Parkway towards Ave V when it struck the child, who was riding a scooter.

The car left the scene and was later found abandoned near 1801 Ocean Parkway, police say.

The child was taken to Maimonides Medical Center.

A 25-year-old man who was hit by debris from the accident was also taken to Maimonides Medical Center. The man is in stable condition, police say.

Investigations are ongoing.
