PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – A man from New York State was arrested two weeks ago at the Portland International Airport for abusing a child in Sandy, police announced on Sunday.
According to the Sandy Police Department, 27-year-old Erik Lopez allegedly previously visited the victim in October, and was making a second visit to the child when he flew back into PDX on Dec. 11.

Sandy police said they worked with the Port of Portland Police and the FBI to investigate the alleged abuse and arrest Lopez at the airport.
Lopez is facing charges for three counts of third-degree sexual abuse and luring a minor.
Police said they are continuing to investigate, and Lopez may face further charges.
