Yeah … so that white Christmas thing probably isn’t going to happen. But some of us may get a white Tuesday.

A clipper system is expected to bring light snow to the far north and west suburbs of New York City early Tuesday, potentially dropping up to 3 inches while making roads slick.

In the five boroughs, the system should create mainly a sloppy mess. We could see some slush, but warmer-than-freezing temperatures will melt most of the snow. It should move out by the afternoon.

The end of the week turns colder, with the potential for a wintry mix that could impact post-Christmas travel.
