UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) — The State’s minimum wage will increase on Jan. 1, marking the third consecutive year of raises.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that New York City, Westchester and Long Island will see a rise to $17 per hour, while the rest of the state will increase to $16 per hour.

This $0.50 per hour adjustment is part of a series of planned increases, which will be indexed to inflation starting in 2027, according to the governor’s office.

Employees can find more information and verify their pay rate using the interactive Minimum Wage Lookup Tool on the New York State Department of Labor’s Minimum Wage webpage.
