We may have wanted a white Christmas, and while some parts of New York will have that, a majority of us missed out. It does look like we are on track for a white day-after Christmas. Accuweather is tracking a storm they believe will bring 1-6 inches of snow to most of New York, New Jersey and parts of Northern Pennsylvania on Friday.
So far Winter has announced its arrival for us in the Northeast very loudly. A post-Thanksgiving storm left the Capital Region covered in about 8 inches of snow, and more than that in the high elevations. We seem to be on track for post-holiday storms once again.

This fast-moving storm will pack a punch in the Northeast right after Christmas. Holiday travelers should prepare for major slowdowns on roads and at airports.
With many travelers hitting the roads on Friday and Saturday this system will impact you getting back home no matter which way you choose to travel. If you are traveling by plane make sure to check with your airline for any delays or cancelations. You can also track your flights using Flight Aware.
Albany International Airport has done a great job of keeping things cleaned up and moving forward during these snow storms, so heading out of Albany usually isn’t an issue. It’s the other larger New York airports that seem to be the biggest factor when it comes to travel.

If you’re headed out on the roads you may want to wait until some time on Saturday as this storm will be happening for much of New York State all day Friday until Friday night.
