Multiple fire departments were called to Westville early Wednesday morning for reports of a large barn fire. According to the Westville Volunteer Fire Department, crews were called to the scene at the intersection of State Route 37 and Mary Riley Road at around 4:10 a.m. When crews arrived, there were heavy fire conditions in the main barn. Firefighters worked to put out the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to four other surrounding buildings. Route 37 was closed between County Route 20 and High Street. Franklin County dispatch confirmed that the road reopened just before 11 a.m.No injuries were reported. More than a dozen emergency response agencies provided mutual aid. It’s not clear yet what caused the fire.
