NEW YORK (PIX11) — Gov. Kathy Hochul took to X to announce a State of Emergency for counties impacted by the winter storm.
A travel advisory has been issued in New York City as a winter storm is expected to dump up to 10 inches of snow across the tri-state area on Friday.
The city’s winter weather response plan has also been activated for Friday night through Saturday, according to New York City Emergency Management.
Sanitation crews are pre-treating roads, loading salt spreaders, and readying snowplows to clear streets and bike lanes as conditions worsen.
Gov. Hochul and city officials are urging New Yorkers to avoid unnecessary travel. If you end up traveling, drive with extreme caution.
