One person has died after a mid-air collision caused two helicopters to crash in southern New Jersey, according to NJ.com, a SILive.com sister site.

The crash happened just before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, in Hammonton, a township in Atlantic County.

First responders from the Hammonton Fire Department and several other agencies responded to what was described as an ”aviation related incident,” according to a Facebook post from the department.

A video posted to the Citizen app from a parking lot near the scene shows a single helicopter spinning uncontrollably as it hurtles toward the ground.

The site of the crash is located near a municipal airport, according to NJ.com.
