The Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority Board of Commissioners might close out 2025 by hiking water and sewer rates 8%, which would be significantly more than the original projection for the next increase.

The 8% increase would not be a one-time hike; instead, it could become the norm until at least 2029, the latest rate study suggests.
