An Elmont man was charged Sunday with the stabbing death of a 33-year-old man in Elmont, Nassau police said.

Shortly after 1 p.m., police were called to a home on Travis Avenue to assist a victim who had been stabbed, police said. Upon arrival, they found a 33-year-old man who had been stabbed numerous times, police said in a news release.

Witnesses at the scene identified Desean Harrison, 23, a resident of the home, as the man who did the stabbing; he was arrested without incident, police said.

The victim, whose identity was not released by police, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead by hospital staff, police said.

Harrison was charged with second-degree murder; he will be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
