QUEENS, NY — At least 19 people were injured when two MTA bus crashed into each other in Queens Monday morning, police said.

The incident happened near Sanford Avenue and Bowne Street in Flushing and involved two Q27 buses. One of the bus rear-ended, the other, according to police.

Eighteen passengers and a bus driver suffered injuries. 14 people were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

It is not known at this time if the crash was weather-related.

Additional details into the crash have not been released yet.

Q13, Q27, Q26 and Q65 buses were rerouted after the crash, according to the MTA.

An investigation remains ongoing.
