STATEN ISLAND, N.Y — Staten Island Railway customers could experience delays this evening because of partially suspended service on the line.

According to a service alert posted by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority at 6:53 p.m. on Monday, trains are not running between the Jefferson Ave and Great Kills stations.

Instead, the railway is running service in two sections. Trains are only running from Tottenville to Great Kills and then between St. George and Jefferson Ave.

The suspended service is due to a downed tree from the tracks near Oakwood Heights, the MTA alert states.

The alert suggests anyone traveling for service between Jefferson Ave and Great Kills to take a nearby S78 bus.
