CITYWIDE — NYC EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IS RELAUNCHING ITS SMS SHORT CODES FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE AND THE MAYORAL INAUGURATION via Notify NYC, regarding the festivities in Times Square and the swearing-in ceremony for Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani on New Year’s Day.

New Yorkers and visitors can text the keyword NEWYEARSEVE or NOCHEVIEJA to 692692 (NYCNYC) to receive alerts and updates on weather, road closures, traffic delays and more in English and/or Spanish for important New Year’s Eve updates.

The keywords NYCMAYOR, NYCMAYORESP or NYCMAYORFRE will provide similar important updates on the mayoral inauguration in English, Spanish or French.

“This week brings major, back-to-back events in New York City that will draw large crowds and millions of visitors into our streets and public spaces,” said NYCEM Commissioner Zach Iscol, who urges people to sign up for Notify NYC SMS alerts to receive real-time updates that help navigate crowds, plan travel and stay safe.
