BROWNSVILLE AND YANKEE STADIUM — A BROOKLYN DOCTOR HAS BEEN CHARGED IN THE ATTEMPTED MURDER AND HARASSMENT OF A SENIOR CITIZEN just a few hours after the New Year began, the New York Daily News reports.
The NYPD identified the alleged assailant as 29-year-old Anton Aleshin, who is currently serving in a medical residency program at Brookdale University Hospital, according to his attorney. Aleshin, who is from Russia, also faces harassment charges, because of the age difference between him and the 72-year-old victim.
He is accused of an unprovoked attack early Thursday morning, when he allegedly slammed his victim into a train at the 161st St./Yankee Stadium station’s Manhattan-bound platform.
The elderly man sustained a serious cut to the head and fell to the platform. He was treated at Lincoln Hospital and is expected to recover.
