Three firefighters were hurt while battling a two-alarm house fire on Staten Island early Friday morning. Heavy flames could be seen throughout the three stories of the home. The fire broke out just after 5:20 a.m. on Norwalk Avenue near Manor Road. Windy conditions hampered the efforts of firefighters, as they struggled to bring the fire under control.

Firefighters worked to prevent the spread of the fire to other homes nearby. The heat of the fire melted the siding on neighboring homes. Three firefighters were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
