EXCLUSIVE,
Jan 2 – US Homeland
Security Investigations asked
the City of New York of a list
of those in the homeless
shelter at 825 East 141st
Street in the South Bronx who
are not citizens or nationals
of the US and retain criminal
histories for crimes ranging
from murder and rape to
burglary and assault of a law
enforcement officer.Â
 The Adams
administration, described as
previously working
cooperatively, has deemed this
subpoena too broad, triggering
a lawsuit filed on December 9
in the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it.
 The US
Attorney’s Office, proposing a
briefing schedule of January 2
and January 9, notes that “the
parties have conferred
cooperatively.”Â
 As Inner
City Press noted on December
9, there wa a new NYC
Administration taking office
on January 1. Inner City Press
covered the inauguration, and
a first announced legal
action, into the Pinnacle
Group bankruptcy. Now this:
On January 2 the
City’s outside law firm filed
a heavily redacted opposition,
leaving unredacted that as of
March 1, 2025 there were
100,200 homeless people
residing in NYC shelters; on
December 22, 2025, 1921 in the
Brucker shelter. Watch this
site.
The reassigned
case is now USA v. City of New
York, 1:25-mc-559 (Kaplan)
