Work has begun to change speed limit signs in the city of Saratoga Springs to 25 miles per hour.

Police are reminding drivers to be mindful of the change and follow the posted limits.

According to police, the city has seen a 1% increase in crashes in the past year and a 13% increase in crash injuries, which led to this change.

Officers will also be issuing warnings and ensuring drivers are aware of the change.

In August, Saratoga Springs City Council voted unanimously to lower city speed limits.

Council members voted to decrease the maximum speed to 25 miles per hour from 35 mph inside the tax district and to 25 mph from 40 mph outside the tax district.
