BROOKLYN, N.Y. — First-place St. Joseph by-the-Sea improved to 7-0-1 with a 10-2 CHSAA A victory over defending champion St. Francis Prep Sunday at Abe Stark Sports Center.

Leo Velkin finished with four goals and an assist, mirrored by linemate DJ Oricchio’s goal and four assists.

Louie Arze and Donovan Mosby each had a pair of goals and an assist, and Dylan Kehley added a goal and two assists.

After spotting the Terriers (6-3) the first goal less than one minute in, Velkin knotted it at 1-1 with a short-handed goal, and it remained that way after one period.

In the second period, the Vikings scored five straight goals to put away the game.
