Brooklyn Bridge Park ferry now goes to Bay Ridge, Staten Island

BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK — Now there’s a direct way to travel between the scenic Shore Road Parkway in Bay Ridge, Staten Island’s North Shore, and Brooklyn Heights.

The NYC Ferry stop Atlantic Ave/Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park has added the Bay Ridge and Staten Island stops as part of a major system redesign which went into effect in December.

This makes Pier 6 a key transfer point to two different ferry routes, according to NYC Ferry.

– The South Brooklyn Route: Connects Atlantic Ave/Pier 6 with Red Hook, Corlears Hook, and East 34th Street.

– The St. George Route: Now extends to include Pier 6, providing a direct link to Bay Ridge and Staten Island’s St. George Terminal, plus Midtown West and Battery Park City.

Tickets are available for purchase through machines on site and through the NYC Ferry app. One-way tickets cost $4.50,valid for two hours. A ten-trip pass runs $29, and discounted fares for eligible riders, seniors and students can be purchased for $1.45. (All tickets include free transfers and zero bike fees.)
