Sources tell News 12 shots were fired inside Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
They say a patient had a sharp object and was barricaded inside a room with another person. They also describe the aftermath as having a lot of blood. It’s unclear what led to the shots being fired.
Police confirm they received a 911 call for shots fired near 6th Street and 7th Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
News 12 spoke to a witness who says she was visiting someone in the hospital when she heard shots ring out. She and others inside were told to shelter in place.
