NEW YORK, N.Y. — Jiselle Jackson scored 13 points and had four steals and Janiya Thomas added 12 points and seven rebounds as Curtis toppled LaGuardia, 46-41, in a PSAL 4A Conference road game Friday.

Head coach Talia Sutton’s club, which bounced back from a tough loss to Tottenville three days earlier, trailed 22-19 at the half, but outscored the host team 13-7 in the third quarter to go up 32-29 heading into the final stanza.

The game remained close the rest of the way, but the Warriors would hold off LaGuardia to secure their seventh league win in 10 outings.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Lizeth Martinez netted 21 points, including five treys, as the Falcons improved to 6-2 in the league with the PSAL 4A road win.

Eleanie Nelson added 13 points and crashed the boards with a whopping 22 rebounds.

“We were able to rest all our starters today and give our bench some big minutes,” said SW head coach Tom Rizzo. “Our girls work extremely hard and today’s matchup gave our bench some very valuable game experience. I thought Lizeth Martinez and Eleanie Nelson were terrific. They spearheaded our offense and played terrific defense.”

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Aliya Monroe led all scorers with 17 points, while Gianna Montagna contributed 12 points and Savannah Breslin added 11 as the Gators won the CHSAA AA contest at the College of Staten Island.

Gianna Lorenzo directed the offense effectively and finished with eight points.

With the win, the Gators improve to 8–3 overall and 4–1 in league play.

NDA will return to action on Monday against Monsignor McClancy at 7 p.m., with the JV game tipping off at 5:15 p.m.
