In late November, news emerged that WBC super lightweight champion Subriel Matias tested positive for the banned substance ostarine in a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association test in the lead-up to his Jan. 10 mandatory title defense against Dalton Smith at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Still, the fight will be allowed to proceed because the concentration of ostarine in Matias’ sample was below the threshold allowed by the New York State Athletic Commission.
