A 10-year-old boy and a 71-year-old woman were accosted by a stranger who allegedly became enraged when the boy’s skateboard touched him as the three crossed a Chinatown street Sunday morning, authorities say.

The NYPD released a blurry image of the suspect captured on surveillance cameras (below).

According to investigators, the woman and boy were crossing near East Broadway and Market Street around 7:30 a.m. when the boy’s skateboard came into contact with the man. The man started arguing with the victims, and then punched them both in the face, according to investigators.

The 71-year-old woman ended up with a cut lip, and the boy suffered pain and redness to his face. Both were taken to a hospital for evaluation and are expected to be OK.
