BROOKLYN, NY — A 26-year-old Brooklyn man and his family were allegedly targeted in an antisemitic attack while walking near their home in Bedford-Stuyvesant late last week, authorities said.
Officials said 35-year-old Isharae Summers began following the family around 11:20 p.m. near Nostrand and Willoughby avenues, shouting threats at the father and his children, including “I’m going to choke you!” and “I’m going to kill all the Jews!”
The attack reportedly escalated when Summers allegedly struck the father in the head and chest, officials said.
The couple’s four children, ranging in age from six months to six years, were with them at the time, according to court documents.
Summers, who also lives in the neighborhood, was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including assault as a hate crime, attempted assault and endangering the welfare of a child, authorities said.
During the Sunday arraignment, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office requested $50,000 cash bail for Summers, who was ultimately released under supervised conditions.
Court records show that Summers’ next appearance is set for 9 a.m. on May 11 at Kings Criminal Court.
