NEW LOTS — POLICE ARE SEARCHING for a group of young men that allegedly attempted to rob a 17-year-old man in the Livonia Avenue subway station (near Van Sinderen and Livonia avenues) in New Lots on Sunday, Jan. 4, and when he resisted, punched and stabbed him. According to police, the incident happened at roughly 4:50 p.m. when three unidentified individuals approached the victim on the mezzanine and attempted to forcibly remove his hooded sweatshirt. The teen resisted, at which point the attackers punched him, and one of them stabbed him in the leg, before the group fled.Â
EMS transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.
All of the suspects are described as having a light complexion, approximately 14–18 years of age, a slender build, brown eyes and black hair of varying styles.
