Hey, u up?
Zohran Mamdani and President Trump have been exchanging “friendly” missives at least twice a week — as an unlikely bromance between the socialist mayor and conservative commander-in-chief continues to blossom, The Post has learned.
The former Astoria lawmaker and the Queens native have been chatting semi-regularly via text since their chummy White House meeting in November, discussing a wide range of topics from the toppling of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro to zoning red tape in Big Apple real estate, according to sources.

Insiders with knowledge of the ongoing chat described the tone as “friendly” – and said it only made sense that two of the nation’s most prominent leaders would try to get along.
“It wouldn’t make practical, political sense for them to scream at each other — in public or private,” one politico said, while also noting, “Of course, they can’t appear too cozy.”
“Mamdani would be smart to kiss Trump’s ass,” the source added. “Especially when the federal government can withhold billions from the city.”
Mamdani’s intimate access to the White House is a marked departure from the relationships of past Big Apple mayors and presidents in recent history.

Former Mayor Adams – who cozied up to Trump during his term, and notably rushed to DC in the middle of the night to attend his inauguration last year – didn’t even get the Donald’s digits, and had to connect with the president through intermediaries.

Andrew Kirtzman, CEO the strategic communications firm KSX, said it was “remarkable that Trump feels so comfortable with [Mamdani],” but noted that the president may be looking for an olive branch with his hometown leadership.

“He hated [Bill] de Blasio, the last left-wing mayor, and probably felt estranged from the city because of it,” he said. “He seems to feel an emotional connection with Mamdani. The mayor must be totally amazed by what’s happening.”
And Kirtzman believes Mamdani’s base of Democratic Socialists of America members – who openly despise the Republican White House – will likely give their lefty leader a pass for his newfound friendship with the prez.

“I think the left understands this is purely transactional from Mamdani’s perspective,” he said.
The budding bromance between Adams’ successor and Trump was sparked in November after Mamdani clinched the mayoral election and called the White House for a meeting.
Most expected an all-out catfight between the political polar-opposites – but were left dumbfounded when Zo and Do appeared in the Oval Office with grins on their faces.
“He’s different than your typical guy,” a beaming Trump said of Mamdani after the pair met behind closed doors for nearly an hour.
“We have one thing in common. We want this city of ours that we love to do very well,” Trump told reporters.
The president even jumped in when reporters asked Mamdani if he still thought Trump was a “despot” or “fascist.”
“That’s okay, you can just say yes,” the president said, patting Hizzoner on the arm with a smile.
That stunning sit down – and apparent ongoing honeymoon – came after the two New Yorkers spent a year hurling insults and threats, with Mamdani vowing to be the president’s “worst nightmare” and Trump threatening to cut billions in federal funding to the Big Apple or send in the National Guard if the socialist won.
Mamdani’s chumminess with Trump could also be a play out of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s book, as the governor crowed that she gave the young, new mayor advice on getting into the president’s good graces — though possibly not in his DMs.

“I told him I thought he did everything he needed to do to make sure the president has confidence in his leadership,” Hochul said after the incredible Oval Office meeting.
But like Hochul — who’s toed the line between productive calls with Trump and public opposition — Mamdani has been sending more than smiling emojis to Washington.
Hizzoner said he called Trump to express his opposition after the White House ousted Maduro on Jan. 3 and sent the dictator to a federal lockup in Brooklyn.
Both the White House and City Hall declined to comment.
