New York City heiress Belle Burden<\/a> claims her cheating ex-husband had the gall to ask her to make him a sandwich \u2014 just moments after telling their kids they were getting a divorce.<\/p>\n

The mom-of-three, who describes her hedge fund executive husband Henry Davis\u2019 affair in her newly released memoir, revealed the eyebrow-raising exchange in a\u00a0New York Times\u2019 podcast interview<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Burden, the granddaughter of legendary Big Apple socialite Babe Paley, said the couple sat down with their children<\/a> in early 2020 in Martha\u2019s Vineyard to break the news \u2014 roughly a month after Davis packed up and left the home where they were quarantining together.<\/p>\n

\u201cI sat on the couch with the girls, my arms around them, and my husband sort of paced in front of them and said, \u2018I have not been happy and I\u2019ve decided that we\u2019re going to divorce\u2019,\u201d she divulged to the \u201cModern Love\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd my younger daughter turned, and I think she thought this was a joke. And then she looked at my face and saw how sad I looked, and she just screamed. My older daughter just sat very calmly with her arms crossed, just watching her father.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cAnd my husband looked at me and said, \u2018I\u2019m starving. Can you make me a sandwich?’\u201d
The bombshell is the latest tidbit to emerge after Burden \u2014 whose full name is Flobelle Fairbanks Burden \u2014 laid bare the details of her husband\u2019s affair and subsequent end of their 20 year marriage.<\/p>\n

Burden, 56, claimed she learned of her 60-year-old hubby\u2019s infidelity after his mistress\u2019 spouse left her a voicemail.<\/p>\n

At the time, Burden and Davis were holed up with their two youngest children at their $7.5 million second home in Martha\u2019s Vineyard.<\/p>\n

She claims in the memoir \u2014 \u201cStrangers: A Memoir of Marriage\u201d \u2014 that Davis later fled without saying goodbye to his kids and severed the final ties of his marriage to Burden over the phone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I was happy but I\u2019m not. I thought I wanted our life but I don\u2019t,\u201d Davis allegedly told Burden. \u201cI feel like a switch has flipped. I\u2019m done.\u201d<\/p>\n

She claims he then said, \u201cYou can have the [Martha\u2019s Vineyard] house and the [New York] apartment. You can have custody of the kids. I don\u2019t want it. I don\u2019t want any of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis, for his part, has stayed mostly silent following his ex-wife\u2019s scandalous revelations.<\/p>\n
