Scratchy sources say the outbreak began at the Chelsea campus and appears to already be under control.<\/p>\n
The dreaded bloodsuckers have been the scourge of many an elite New York institution. Universal Images Group via Getty Images<\/p>\n
An email \u2014 seen by Page Six \u2014 went out to staff on Sunday saying that an, er, search had turned up evidence of the dreaded bloodsuckers, and that they should stay home until further notice.<\/p>\n
It being a Silicone Valley company, they set up a live tracker so that staff could monitor the situation in real time.<\/p>\n
A team worked overnight to clean up, and by Monday staff were told that it was safe to return.<\/p>\n
The company searched the new Hudson Square location out of \u201can abundance of caution.\u201d Charles Guerin\/ABACAUSA.COM<\/p>\n
The company also did searches at the new Hudson Square offices, just to be safe.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, we find it oddly reassuring that the gods of the Information Age still have the same old gross problems that have plagued New York firms for centuries.<\/p>\n
The parasites have a long and storied history in Manhattan\u2019s upper echelons.<\/p>\n

The New York Times got a dose in 2019, the Wall Street Journal got hit in 2010, as did Victoria\u2019s Secret (which somehow seems especially wince-worthy), and the Waldorf Astoria\u2019s had various battles with the little beasts.<\/p>\n
For our money, the only chicer vermin is mice, which have made it all the way to Cond\u00e9 Nast \u2014 a glass ceiling that bed bugs have yet to breach.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s actually not the first time that Google has had mega-bites to worry about.
