The Ambriola Company recalled select cheese products in late November<\/a> after routine testing confirmed the presence of listeria monocytogenes, according to a recall notice posted by the FDA.<\/p>\nListeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. <\/p>\n
While healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women, according to the FDA. <\/p>\n
The affected products were distributed to retail stores and distributors nationwide Nov. 3-20, 2025.<\/p>\n

The agency classified these recalled products under the category of a high-risk \u201cClass I\u201d recall.<\/p>\n
According to the FDA, this is the highest possible risk category of a recall classified by the agency and means that there is a \u201csituation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.\u201d<\/p>\n
No other Ambriola, Locatelli, Member\u2019s Mark, Pinna, or Boar\u2019s Head products are included in this recall.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe take food safety very seriously and immediately alerted stores and distributors to remove the affected products from shelves,\u201d said Phil Marfuggi, chief executive officer, said in the recall notice. \u201cWe are working closely with the FDA and continuing to test our products and facilities to fully understand the situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Customers who purchased the affected products should not consume them and either throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. <\/p>\n
