A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged after police say he ran from officers while carrying an illegal, loaded gun in Brownsville. <\/p>\n
It happened around 11 p.m. on Jan. 8, but the NYPD only released the police body cam video on Wednesday. <\/p>\n
That video shows officers chasing down the alleged gunman near Pitkin and Rockaway avenues. <\/p>\n
You can hear an officer yell \u201cstop\u201d as they run about two blocks. <\/p>\n
The video shows the alleged gunman trying to enter an apartment building near Rockaway and East New York avenues, when he trips over a garden railing and falls to the ground. <\/p>\n
Officers jumped on top of him and found him carrying a loaded pistol. <\/p>\n
Police blurred the man\u2019s face in the video but said they arrested and charged 19-year-old Skylar Mclean, of Brownsville. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s real sad, man,\u201d said Vernon Grace, of Brownsville, reacting to the NYPD video. \u201cThey\u2019ve been doing this for years. This is nothing new out here in Brownsville. Brownsville gonna always be Brownsville.\u201d <\/p>\n
