{"id":100886,"date":"2026-01-15T05:47:32","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T05:47:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/100886\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T05:47:32","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T05:47:32","slug":"bob-the-drag-queen-sets-hulu-comedy-special-this-is-wild-in-january","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/100886\/","title":{"rendered":"Bob the Drag Queen Sets Hulu Comedy Special &#8216;This Is Wild&#8217; in January"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/bob-the-drag-queen\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bob-the-drag-queen\" data-tag=\"bob-the-drag-queen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bob the Drag Queen<\/a> has a new comedy special, \u201cThis Is Wild,\u201d coming to Hulu on Jan. 16.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe comedian and drag performer, whose real name is Caldwell Tidicue, is best known for winning Season 8 of \u201cRuPaul\u2019s Drag Race.\u201d Her new hour is produced by Comedy Dynamics and directed by the company\u2019s founder and CEO, Brian Volk-Weiss, who executive produces alongside Bob and Cisco Henson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cBob\u2019s new special is absolutely hilarious front to back,\u201d said Volk-Weiss. \u201cBob is one of those performers that seems to have been born for the stage, and that shines through in her new special.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThis Is Wild\u201d joins Hulu\u2019s lineup of specials known as Hularious, which also includes hours from Sebastian Maniscalco, Bill Burr, Ilana Glazer, Kumail Nanjiani, Jim Gaffigan and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBob has previously put out two full-length comedy specials, 2020\u2019s \u201cLive at Caroline\u2019s\u201d and 2023\u2019s \u201cWoke Man in a Dress.\u201d She also has a couple of TV specials under her belt, 2017\u2019s \u201cSuspiciously Large Woman\u201d and 2019\u2019s \u201cCrazy Black Lady.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHer unscripted HBO series \u201cWe\u2019re Here\u201d landed her a Peabody Award, GLAAD Media Award and a Television Academy Honors recognition. Her podcast \u201cSibling Rivalry\u201d with Mon\u00e9t X Change has also netted her a Queerty Award and GLAAD Media Award, and she recently helped launch a new podcast called \u201cQuit Playin&#8217;\u201d via her Purse First Studios banner. Bob has also guest starred on \u201cThe Traitors,\u201d \u201cDoctor Odyssey\u201d and \u201cThe Simpsons,\u201d and she published a novel titled \u201cHarriet Tubman: Live In Concert.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBob is gearing up to embark on a spring and summer comedy tour as she works on a brand new hour.
