STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Sanaya Frederick scored 10 of her 16 points in the second half, including eight points in the fourth as Curtis won a pivotal PSAL 4A Staten Island division contest with a 54-36 win over Susan Wagner on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe came off the bench and gave the team a spark of energy starting on the defensive end,\u201d said Warrior head coach Talia Sutton of Frederick. <\/p>\n
The win lifted the Warriors into second place in the standings with a 9-3 mark, while the Falcons fells to 8-3. <\/p>\n
Curtis led 24-20 at the half before extending the lead to 39-30 after three. <\/p>\n
Kat Koronous had a big second half as well, scoring nine of her 15 points in the third quarter.<\/p>\n
Also, Janiya Thomas finished with 12 point and nine rebounds. <\/p>\n
\u201cShe played both ends on the court with her typical toughness and high energy,\u201d said Sutton, whose team played a man-to-man defense the whole game.<\/p>\n
