Staten Island Advance<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2GQF2SUM75FTLBAPZYCEILITNM\">In the 1970s, until the mid 1980s, Buda Bakers was a favorite bakery with several locations on Staten Island, famous for its crumb buns, icebox rolls, and jelly donuts. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"YASEO75EW5GERLS4W4NRLEAFCM\">Even though Buda Bakers closed years ago, many people still remember the tasty Sunday pastries and the welcoming, family-run atmosphere. <\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Buda Bakers| Then and now\" class=\"article__image-content\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/WHUDODAMSND3DEFE3LFWWWGDAM.JPG\"  \/>As of Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2026, a new business called Shaghf Cafe will be opening in the spot where Buda Bakers and Cucina Fresca were located in Grant City.
