Maybe it\u2019s the millennial<\/a> in me, but these days, I\u2019m looking for a little bit more from nights out than simply going to another basic bar<\/a> and drinking the night away. Heck, I don\u2019t even really like drinking<\/a> that much anymore (is this giving away my age?). I\u2019d much rather find something unique to do with my friends, even better, something that centers around an activity\u2014so when team Delish ventured to Lawn Club<\/a> in New York City for our annual holiday party, I was intrigued.<\/p>\n

The venue markets itself as \u201cNew York\u2019s leisure headquarters\u201d and offers a fun alternative to your typical night out. As its name implies, Lawn Club lets guests enjoy all the fun lawn games of their youth in a new, adult way. Here\u2019s how it all works.<\/p>\n

Lawn Club<\/p>\n

Located in the heart of the South Street Seaport, Lawn Club stands prominently with a 30,000 square foot space equipped with indoor (and outdoor) lawn areas for groups to rent out by the hour, as well as complimentary putting pools available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are multiple types of lawns to book\u2014indoor lawns can accommodate cornhole, frisbeer, ladders, lawn pong, kan jam, putting darts, and bocce ball, while the venue\u2019s outdoor lawns can accommodate curling, as well as a smaller selection of lawn games. Additionally, there are lawns specifically designated for croquet. <\/p>\n

Each lawn is designed to host a group of up to 11 people (larger groups can book a private event), and the outdoor curling lawns also give groups access to their own deluxe winter cabin equipped with a TV, wireless speakers, heaters, and a patio. Indoor lawns similarly come equipped with a large-screen TV, and all lawns come with their very own Lawncierge, who can help you swap out games and will take food and drink orders. Oh, and did we mention there\u2019s also an in-house DJ spinning beats, too?<\/p>\n

Since you can expect to work up both a sweat and an appetite while playing games, Lawn Club serves up an ample menu of both food and drinks. The food is strategically designed for gamers, with easy-to-eat handheld options like cheesesteak egg rolls, burgers, and wings<\/a>. Shareable nibbles like pigs in a blanket<\/a>, mini pizza bagels, and soft pretzel nuggets help round it all out, and dessert is on the menu as well. <\/p>\n

As for drinks, the venue caters to all different tastes with an expansive selection of beer, wine, canned cocktails<\/a>, and an impressive line-up of specialty cocktails, mocktails<\/a>, and shots (and yes, they\u2019re actually good). If that\u2019s not your speed, you can also opt for coffee, tea, juice, soda, and an array of other non-alcoholic options, too.
